Applying for an MBA program can be stressful on an individual. When different programs have different expectations and qualifications, it can be easy to get confused as to what the MBA school is actually looking for.
Because of this problem, more MBA hopefuls are asking that there be specific resources that are geared toward the admissions process. A recent survey by Veritas Prep found that more students are looking for specific guidelines that will help them tailor their qualifications to the MBA program of their choice.
"The survey's findings reveal that applicants are becoming increasingly aware that a one-size-fits-all approach to applying to top business schools won't get them in," said Scott Shrum, director of MBA admissions research at Veritas Prep. "Each school looks for a set of unique applicant traits, and savvy applicants will speak to those traits and make a compelling case for why they fit into the program's culture in their applications."
Approximately 66 percent of respondents felt they needed a list of popular interview questions so they could have an idea of what to expect. Additionally, 65 percent said they would like to view sample admissions essays to get a better idea of what MBA programs are looking for.
