Choosing to return to school for an MBA degree can be a big step in any professional career. Many people, especially those who are business-minded, choose to study an MBA program in order to hone their entrepreneurial sense, and to generally learn more about this field.
One woman, recently appointed to be the University of Buffalo's career services director, seems to have taken her MBA and chosen to help others fulfill their career goals. According to a university news release, Arlene Kakus is to take on this role as of February 1, 2010.
It seems that some of the skills Kakus learned while working as part of an MBA program will help with her new position. "We are impressed by her knowledge of the non-profit environment, her team-building successes and her expertise in building collaborative relationships with the community," explained Barbara Ricotta, the university's associate vice president of campus life.
A large component of being a successful businessperson may be one's capacity for networking and building interpersonal relationships.
Those interested in learning skills to make them competitive in the business world, or to set up their own company one day, may be interested in enrolling in an accredited MBA program.
