A little healthy competition can be a good thing, especially if you happen to be a student in the process of getting an MBA degree.
The F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College is hosting its first Marketing Case Competition in an effort to give its MBA students some real-world experience and to see if they can apply what they've learned to solve business problems in today's industry, according to the school.
The competition will also be an opportunity for the student competitors to network with other students from different MBA programs, which may prove beneficial in the future for job-hunting purposes. It was recently reported by Business Week that personal relationships and networking may increase a person's chances at gaining a position at a company.
Participants will be given various marketing issue from corporate sponsors such as Ocean Spray, Procter and Gamble, Dunkin Donuts. This will also be another opportunity for the MBA students to network.
