An MBA could be a useful tool to individuals who are looking to obtain an executive position in the future.
Following a popular trend among executive position holders, an MBA was recently named the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for the marketing consulting firm, TopRight.
Jo Ann Herold, who joined the firm in August 2009, will be given more responsibilities with the new position something she is used to from her extensive background.
Dave Sutton, the managing partner of TopRight, believes Herold's skills and experience will help expand the company's potential.
"[Herold] brings a unique blend of brand building, strategic thinking, creativity and insights to TopRight," Sutton said. "[Herold] has been a key part of TopRight's recent success and we are thrilled to promote her into this important role."
Prior to joining TopRight, Herold was the CMO and vice president of marketing at the Honey Baked Ham company. She also serves as an adjunct professor teaching marketing to students.
Students who are interested in becoming a CMO should look into marketing MBA programs, which can help build an understanding of how to improve the company through sales, advertising and public relations.
