Working towards an MBA degree isn't just about hitting the books - students also have the opportunity to participate in interesting studies and other classroom activities that give them a whole new perspective on business and the world.
For example, one group of MBA students at Lehigh University recently participated in a study that determined people are more comfortable telling lies in email than they are in other communications, such as letters, according to the Lexington Journal Courier.
Researchers asked the students to divide some fake money between themselves and a fictional partner, and send a communication to the partner telling them how much money they would receive. Only about ten percent of the students using email were honest about the amount of money in question, compared to forty percent who were using a pen and paper in the experiment.
Terry Kurtzberg of Rutgers University, who co-directed the study, suggested that the result was due to "an anonymity that people seem to think they have in email."
Fun and interesting courses and projects are everywhere for MBA students who take the time to look. For example, students at Bentley College are taking a course in conjunction with the Boston Beer Company that is an "entrepreneurial and innovative" look at the company's development.
These are just a couple of examples of the many interesting experiences that students will have as they prepare for their MBA degrees and gain valuable insights into the business world.
