MBA programs in Europe are said to be riding out the recession well due to growing interest from American students.
According to a recent report in Business Week, applications to European business schools are up by about one-third over the past 18 months. This is said to be driven by a combination of factors such as a tight job market that has led more professionals to consider graduate school, while others are drawn more to the opportunity to build their international business credentials.
"Business isn't just confined to the U.S. You need to know what's going on elsewhere," MBA student Chris Carey told the publication.
Many European institutions also tend to offer a shorter program than their U.S.-based counterparts, making them even more attractive to some students.
Among the international business school options, HEC in France announced this week that it had been voted the top business school outside of the United States in a Princeton Review survey.
If you're a business professional who would benefit from some international experience and advanced training, this might be your cue to consider working on an MBA degree.
