Proving that MBAs can use their knowledge for a greater good, MBAs are currently working to find solutions for important issues such as alternative energy and AIDS.

As a way to set an example for ethical business, an MBA program is teaching its students to develop alternative solutions for social issues that will offer a whole new value. One MBA student is taking a women and minority entrepreneurship course to learn about minorities in the work place.

This is just one example of how MBA students are looking to learn an alternative way of thinking by using social issues that they can adapt to everyday business decisions.

"With so many issues facing our communities today—from globalization to the current recession—it's increasingly important to instill sound business ethics in our students," said Melvin T. Stith, a dean of an MBA program.

A recent survey from Net Impact and the Aspen Institute revealed that 80 percent of MBA students are looking for more out of their curricula, such as sustainability programs.

An MBA program can offer a new way of thinking about social issues by addressing them as a business model.
