Some institutions are looking to increase their offerings to students by creating a number of new programs. While a few higher education systems may choose to add new courses, others are creating new MBA programs to address the growing demand of people who are looking to achieve a higher degree.
A few schools that are trying to build MBA programs from scratch are finding they need to address the interests of their undergraduates first and then build upon that for a higher degree, according to BusinessWeek.
"Since we are the new kids, we don't have to change culture," explained Yash Gupta, dean of the new MBA program at Johns Hopkins University. "We're trying to change the mold."
The new program will have a focus in entrepreneurial studies for students who are looking to start their own business endeavors with the help of their new degree.
With more MBA options becoming available, it may be a good idea to look into pursuing a higher degree. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, having an MBA degree can increase your chances of attaining employment.
