Business programs and students are reportedly getting a first-hand look at the economic impact of the credit crunch.
A recent report by Business Week notes that many students, especially international ones, are hitting a brick wall when it comes to securing financing for schools they have been accepted to, largely due to decisions by some lenders to cancel loan programs that allow students to borrow without a co-signer.
Some students are said to be putting off their education for a year to allow time for the financial mess to be resolved, others are staying in their home countries to pursue MBA degrees closer to home, while a couple of institutions such as MIT have already managed to develop alternative solutions - something various other schools are reportedly close to doing as well.
