Dr. Marcus Thompson to Lead Jackson State University as its 13th President

The decision was made by the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL), highlighting Thompson’s deep understanding of JSU’s historical significance and his ability to articulate a bold vision for its future.

Currently serving as the deputy commissioner and chief administrative officer of the IHL, Thompson brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He will be taking over from interim JSU President Dr. Elayne Hayes-Anthony, who stepped in following the resignation of Thomas Hudson.
