USC Marshall School of Business continues to thrive as it enrolled an impressive MBA class with an average GMAT score of 732, marking a notable 16-point increase from the previous year. This surge in GMAT scores has firmly placed USC Marshall amongst the top graduate business schools globally.

The rise in GMAT average can be attributed to the school’s unwavering commitment to excellence in various facets such as attracting high-caliber and diverse applicants, fostering curriculum innovation, providing robust career outcomes, and securing higher rankings. USC Marshall’s upward momentum in these key areas has greatly contributed to the exceptional GMAT scores witnessed in 2021. Even in 2022, the school continued its positive trajectory.

Surpassing previous records, a total of 11 business schools reported their highest-ever GMAT averages in 2022. Leading the pack was Indiana Kelley School of Business, achieving the largest increase in GMAT scores since 2020, closely followed by USC Marshall with the second-largest increase. USC Marshall has consistently demonstrated remarkable progress in GMAT averages among top business schools since 2017.

Although USC Marshall celebrated its success, it is worth noting that five schools experienced a decline in their GMAT averages over the past six years. This serves as a reminder of the competitive landscape within the MBA realm and the significance of constantly striving for academic excellence.

Overall, the collective average GMAT score of business schools in 2022 surpassed that of the previous year, signifying a trend towards higher standards and increased competitiveness. While the number of schools with a GMAT average above 700 remained consistent between 2021 and 2022, more schools boasted a median score above 700 in 2022, highlighting the growing emphasis on strong academic aptitude.
