Dorothy Jean Tillman II, a 17-year-old teenager from Chicago, has made headlines recently for becoming the youngest person to earn a doctoral degree in integrated behavioral health from Arizona State University. Tillman’s remarkable journey began at the age of 10 when she started taking college courses. She went on to obtain associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees in various disciplines before achieving this latest milestone.

Tillman’s family, friends, and professors have been celebrating her achievements, noting that they hope she will inspire more young students to pursue education at an early age. Despite her academic success, Tillman has acknowledged that she has missed out on traditional teenage experiences like homecoming dances and spirit weeks.

In addition to her academic pursuits, Tillman is also passionate about the arts. She founded the Dorothyjeanius STEAM Leadership Institute to help young people interested in arts and STEM subjects through summer camps. She plans to continue her education by engaging in public speaking and fundraising for her camp, with hopes of franchising it in the future.

Tillman’s mother, Jimalita Tillman, has praised her daughter’s ability to balance her education with social activities and make important decisions about her priorities. Professor Leslie Manson, who has worked closely with Tillman, describes her as a motivated and innovative leader who exemplifies the true meaning of leadership.
