With a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Arizona State University and previous experience as an Account Executive at Translation LLC, a creative advertising agency, Doris brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to her new role.

During the summer of 2022, Doris had the opportunity to intern at McKinsey & Co in New York, which further solidified her interest in the consulting industry. Her time spent at the prestigious firm allowed her to gain invaluable insights and hands-on experience in the field.

Throughout business school, Doris displayed exceptional leadership abilities by holding various positions, including VP of Marketing for the Association of Hispanic and Black Business Students, VP of Admissions for Stern Women in Business, and VP of Stern Social for Student Government. Her dedication to these roles, as well as her involvement in community work, showcases her commitment to making a difference.

Doris’s journey in business school was not only academically rewarding, but it also allowed her to help prospective students navigate the MBA application process through her involvement in Stern Women in Business. Choosing NYU Stern for her business education was a conscious decision for Doris, as she was drawn to its diverse community and the numerous opportunities it provides for people of color. Her favorite MBA professor, Dolly Chugh, has been instrumental in shaping her managerial skills and providing insights on effective team management and fostering a positive work culture.

Reflecting on her MBA journey, Doris wishes she had taken more risks, such as exploring startup ideas or venturing into different industries. However, she also acknowledges the collaborative nature of the Stern community and the willingness of its members to help each other succeed.

As she approaches graduation, Doris’s professional bucket list includes joining a nonprofit board and supporting underrepresented minority founders in developing transformative brands and companies. Her commitment to her academic pursuits and extracurricular activities, such as serving as an Orientation Leader and planning community events for her peers, make her an invaluable addition to the Class of 2023.
