Tawanna Revels, a senior at Scotland Early College High School, has not only made headlines for her impressive academic accomplishments but also for being accepted into Duke University with almost $1 million in scholarships. Revels had the difficult decision of choosing between over 30 college acceptances but ultimately decided on Duke University because of the multitude of opportunities available in the healthcare field.

On top of her acceptance at Duke, Revels will also be graduating on Friday with an Associate in Science degree from Richmond Community College. Following that, she will receive her high school diploma on Saturday. This dual graduation is a testament to Revels’ hard work and determination to succeed.

In reflecting on her journey, Revels advises future students to seize every opportunity presented to them and not to procrastinate in pursuing their dreams. She hopes to inspire others to set high goals for themselves and work tirelessly to achieve them.

Looking towards the future, Revels’ ultimate goal is to open her own medical practice in Scotland County, where she can serve her community and provide much-needed healthcare services. Her passion for helping others and making a positive impact on her community is evident in her dedication to her education and future career goals.
