Nvidia CEO Attends AI Forum on Capitol Hill, Reports Strong Quarterly Earnings
Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, recently attended the Inaugural AI Insight Forum on Capitol Hill, where he discussed the future of artificial intelligence and the company’s role in driving innovation in this space.
Following the forum, Nvidia reported fourth fiscal quarter earnings that exceeded Wall Street’s expectations for both earnings and sales. The company stated that revenue for the current quarter would be higher than anticipated, despite already high growth expectations.
Investors reacted positively to the news, with Nvidia shares increasing approximately 10% in extended trading following the earnings report. Earnings per share were reported at $5.16 adjusted, compared to the expected $4.64, while revenue for the quarter reached $22.10 billion, surpassing the expected $20.62 billion.
Looking ahead, Nvidia projected sales of $24.0 billion in the current quarter, above the analyst’s estimate of $22.17 billion. The company has benefited greatly from the growing popularity of large artificial intelligence models developed on its expensive graphics processors.
CEO Jensen Huang expressed confidence in continued growth for 2025 and beyond, citing high demand for Nvidia’s GPUs in generative AI and the industry’s shift toward accelerators over central processors. Nvidia reported $12.29 billion in net income for the quarter, up 769% from the previous year.
Total revenue increased by 265% from the previous year, driven by strong sales of AI chips for servers, particularly the “Hopper” chips like the H100. Demand for Nvidia’s products was strong across enterprise software, consumer internet applications, and various industry verticals such as automotive, financial services, and healthcare.
Overall, Nvidia’s strong quarterly performance and optimistic outlook for future growth highlight the company’s continued leadership in the AI and graphics processing markets.
