Wartburg College Wrestlers Shine at NCAA Championships
The Wartburg College wrestling team recently showcased their talent at the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships, finishing second overall in the team standings. Leading the charge was Massoma Endene, who secured a national title at 197 pounds with an impressive undefeated season. Endene’s victory contributed to the team’s success, with five out of seven Wartburg wrestlers earning All-American status.
This achievement adds to Wartburg’s storied wrestling history, as the team has now won 15 team titles since 1996. The college continues to be a powerhouse in the Division III wrestling world, consistently producing top-tier athletes who excel on the national stage.
Meanwhile, Loras College also had a strong showing at the championships, finishing in 10th place with three wrestlers reaching the podium. The team’s performance was highlighted by standout individual efforts, showcasing the depth of talent within the program.
In the Division II Championships, Upper Iowa fought hard and placed 17th overall, with two wrestlers earning All-American honors. Chase Luensman took second at 165 pounds, while Tate Murty finished fifth at 141 pounds, representing the university with pride and determination.
The top spot in the Division II Championships went to Central Oklahoma, who clinched first place overall. The competition was fierce, but Central Oklahoma’s wrestlers rose to the challenge and emerged victorious, solidifying their status as national champions.
Overall, the NCAA Championships provided a platform for wrestlers from across the country to showcase their skills and compete at the highest level. Wartburg, Loras, and Upper Iowa all demonstrated their resilience and talent, making their respective colleges proud and leaving a lasting impact on the wrestling community.
