Alabama State University (ASU) will see its first cohort of graduates from the new Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree program offered in the College of Business Administration. The 37 graduate students have successfully completed all of their degree requirements during the summer semester and will officially graduate during the Fall Commencement ceremony.
The MBA program at ASU is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of business principles and practices. One of its key features is the flexibility it offers, as it can be completed in just one year in a virtual format. This makes it convenient for students who are already in the workforce and looking to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Among the graduating students is Krystal Trone, an English Literature major and ASU alumna. Trone believes that the new MBA program is not only beneficial for ASU’s reputation, but also offers academic tools that can significantly expand horizons and improve career prospects.
To celebrate the students’ successful completion of the program, the College of Business Administration held a special celebration on August 4. This event was a token of pride for the graduates’ achievements, as well as a recognition of their contribution to the University and the College of Business Administration.
Dr. Kamal Hingorani, the dean of the College of Business Administration, hopes that the celebration and the upcoming Fall Commencement will inspire the graduates to become ambassadors for ASU. Furthermore, he has plans to enhance the MBA program by implementing additional tracks in Finance, Business Data Analytics, and Cybersecurity. This will increase the program’s rigor, enrollment, and reputation.
Introducing the MBA program at ASU not only elevates the stature of the University but also opens new career doors for students, many of whom will be the first in their family to earn a graduate degree. Additionally, the program helps build up the University’s enrollment and contributes to making America more diverse.
Overall, the introduction of the MBA program at ASU is a significant milestone for the institution. It provides students with the opportunity to enhance their business knowledge and skills, while also contributing to the growth and reputation of the University.
