My Journey through the MBA Experience

The Harvard Business School MBA Admissions team recently hosted a virtual program called Peek, providing undergraduate students with an insight into the MBA experience. Elizabeth Barrett, a senior at Cornell School of Hospitality, was inspired to consider pursuing an MBA after attending a career panel with an HBS alumnus.
The Peek program offered case discussions, panel discussions, and sessions with students, faculty, and alumni on various topics. Gretchen Brown, marketing manager for college outreach at HBS, highlighted the goal of showcasing that an MBA is possible for anyone.
One of the participants, senior student Brooks Lin from the University of Texas at Austin, found the case method discussion to be a highlight of the program. Youngme Moon, faculty chair of pipeline programs at HBS, emphasized the importance of building a strong community with shared values.
Moon sees the pipeline programs as an opportunity to address questions and concerns about HBS and its offerings. The focus of HBS’s pipeline programs is on the value of case method teaching and participatory learning.
After participating in the Peek program, Barrett realized she could see herself in a case method classroom and is now considering pursuing an MBA. The program has successfully sparked interest and curiosity among undergraduate students, showing them that an MBA is a viable option for their future careers.
