Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business Recognized for Innovative MBA Executive Challenge
Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business has recently been ranked within the Top 26 institutions by a global nonprofit organization for its innovative business education. The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business specifically recognized Georgetown for its first-year MBA Leadership Communication course and the MBA Executive Challenge.
The MBA Executive Challenge at Georgetown involves students interacting with alumni to simulate real-world business scenarios. Created by Evelyn Williams, teaching professor of management at MSB, the program began in 2017 and is also active at University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business and Stanford University.
Andrés Romero, a graduate serving as a case manager, described the challenge as a unique and valuable learning experience. Over 100 graduate judges participate in the challenge, providing students with necessary skills in the business world.
Juliana Olm, assistant dean of strategy & operations for the MBA program, highlighted the hands-on nature of the challenge and its significance in developing skills. Romero emphasized the transformative nature of the MBA Executive Challenge for all participants, including alumni, students, and case room managers.
The program has received praise for its ability to provide students with real-world experience and networking opportunities, preparing them for successful careers in the business world. The recognition by the AACSB further solidifies Georgetown’s reputation as a leading institution for innovative business education.
