My MBA Career: How a Consortium Fellowship accelerated my journey to McKinsey consulting

Ose Ujadughele, also known as Ose, has achieved great success in her career after completing her MBA program. She recently landed a top job with renowned consulting firm, McKinsey & Company. Ose’s unwavering passion for building connections with people has been a driving force in her career journey.
Ose’s multicultural upbringing has played a significant role in shaping her aspirations. Growing up in California within a Nigerian family, she experienced the best of both worlds. Ose also spent time at boarding school in Nigeria, which further helped her discover her passions. It was during this time that she recognized the importance of forming meaningful connections with people from all walks of life.
After completing her bachelor’s degree, Ose gained invaluable leadership experience while working at a Californian winery. However, she yearned for a deeper understanding of the business world. She later joined The Consortium, further enhancing her professional network. These experiences not only provided her with guidance and mentorship but also helped her build a strong support system.
Ose chose to study her MBA at Emory University in Atlanta due to its diverse student body and vibrant city location. Throughout her MBA journey, she explored various classes, discovering a particular interest in marketing. Additionally, Ose took part in the Goizueta IMPACT program, where she had the opportunity to work on a strategic consulting project for a bakery firm in New York.
An internship with Procter & Gamble as a brand management intern turned out to be a pivotal experience for Ose. It was during this time that she realized her true career path lay in consulting. Armed with newfound clarity, Ose sought guidance from the Goizueta career management team in securing a role at McKinsey. With their support, she successfully secured a position as an implementation consultant.
Ose firmly believes that her passion for building connections and the network she cultivated during her MBA and as a Consortium fellow were crucial in securing her dream job. She is excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and is ready to make a lasting impact in the business world.
