Verkada’s Innovative Employee Socializing Program Boosting Business Growth
Verkada, a leading security company valued at $3.5 billion, has introduced a unique program aimed at boosting employee interactions and business productivity. The company’s “3-3-3” initiative allows employees to expense food or drinks with three or more colleagues after 3 p.m., with each person being reimbursed up to $30.
CEO Filip Kaliszan believes that this program is not just about socializing, but also about fostering relevant work-related discussions that ultimately benefit the company. All 1,800 Verkada employees have participated in the program at least once, showcasing its popularity and effectiveness.
Verkada, founded in 2016 and initially focused on selling security cameras, has expanded its product offerings to include access control and alarm systems. The company has strict policies surrounding office culture, including a strong emphasis on in-person work and employee relationships.
The “3-3-3” program is part of Verkada’s larger effort to decentralize employee interactions and empower staff to plan social activities themselves, without needing approval from office managers. This approach has proved successful, with the company seeing a 60% growth in 2023 and plans to open five new offices in the near future.
By investing in programs like the “3-3-3” initiative, Verkada is not only creating a more cohesive and engaged workforce but also driving business growth and expansion. As the company continues to thrive, it serves as a model for how innovative employee engagement strategies can lead to success in the modern workplace.
