Last Updated on February 28, 2024 by Robert C. Hoopes
The George Washington University School of Business (GWSB) has made history by being ranked No. 1 in the world for having the highest percentage of women enrolled full-time in a Global MBA program in the prestigious “Financial Times” Global MBA Ranking for 2024.
With more than 65% of its 2025 enrollment being female, GWSB is one of only three MBA programs globally to surpass the 60% mark. Vanessa Perry, the interim dean of GW Business, attributes this achievement to the school’s dedication to creating an environment where diverse perspectives flourish.
GW Business actively promotes opportunities for women to take on visible and impactful leadership roles across faculty, staff, and student organizations. Initiatives like GW Women in Business help students prepare for professional careers and facilitate connections with successful GW alumnae.
Over the past four years, GW Business has consistently enrolled a majority of women in its Global MBA full-time classes. Students are drawn to the school not only for its sense of community but also for its strong commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Participants in the Global MBA program have found being part of a predominantly female cohort to be empowering, leading to increased self-confidence and motivation in the collaborative classroom setting.
GWSB’s success in achieving gender equity highlights the importance of representation and diversity in business school settings. The school’s commitment to fostering an inclusive environment has proven to be a key factor in its rise to the top of global MBA rankings.
