Central Michigan Lacrosse Suffers Loss to Cincinnati in Close Match
Central Michigan Lacrosse faced off against Cincinnati in Nippert Stadium, marking the last game of its four-game road stretch to kick off the 2024 season. Despite a strong start, the Chippewas ultimately fell short in a closely contested match.
In the first 15 minutes of the game, Central Michigan had an early advantage on draw control, taking a 5-1 lead. Players such as Loveland, Hinkle, Casey, and Huhn made significant contributions to the team’s efforts, showcasing their skills on the field.
Goalkeeper Klein also played a crucial role in the game, making five saves with three of them coming in the first quarter. The team’s defense put up a strong performance, causing turnovers and maintaining pressure on the opposition. Players like DePrado, Stuart, and Whitman stood out with their key plays throughout the match.
DePrado, who was recently named the first Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Week in 2024, demonstrated his versatility by excelling on both the offensive and defensive ends. His ability to cause turnovers added another layer of strength to the team’s overall performance.
Looking ahead, Central Michigan Lacrosse will be hosting Canisius College at the CMU Lacrosse Complex on Sunday.
