Estefania Diaz Escamilla, a hardworking investment banker from Aguascalientes, Mexico, has recently made headlines for her incredible achievement of being accepted into the prestigious University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School for an MBA. But what sets her apart is not just the fact that she gained admission to Wharton; she also managed to secure spots in three other top MBA programs in the world.

Diaz Escamilla applied to Stanford Graduate School of Business, Harvard Business School, Wharton, and Chicago Booth School of Business, and successfully gained admission to all four. This accomplishment is even more impressive considering the fact that she was working full-time as an investment banker while applying to these highly competitive programs. On top of that, she was also busy planning her wedding and honeymoon.

For Diaz Escamilla, business school is seen as a much-needed respite after a challenging journey. She plans to take this time to focus on her physical well-being through exercise and networking. Her undergraduate degree in economics and her experience in investment banking have led her to pursue an MBA as a natural step towards acquiring new skills and transitioning into private equity.

Interestingly, Diaz Escamilla and her fiancé, Eduardo, decided to apply to the same four MBA programs and seized the opportunity to tie the knot during the application process. The couple spent a year preparing for the GMAT before receiving their engagement ring in January 2022. They applied to each school in the second round in January 2023, all while planning their wedding, which ultimately took place on January 14th.
