My MBA Journey: Beta Alpha Psi Earns Superior Chapter Recognition at the College of Business – University of Nevada, Reno

The Zeta Iota Chapter at the University of Nevada, Reno has once again been recognized for their outstanding accomplishments. For the 17th consecutive year, the chapter has been awarded the Superior Chapter award by the Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) National Council. BAP is an international honors organization for financial information majors, which focuses on academic excellence, professional development, and community service.
The Zeta Iota Chapter has been an active and influential presence on the University of Nevada campus since its establishment in 1981. Over the years, the chapter has consistently organized and participated in numerous professional and community events, making a positive impact within the accounting industry.
One of the key factors contributing to the chapter’s growth and success is the strong sense of comradery and collaboration among its members. By working together, they have been able to host a range of professional events, including professional lunches, firm tours, the highly anticipated “Meet the Firms” event, and a spring banquet. These events provide invaluable opportunities for students to network, gain insight from industry professionals, and explore potential career paths.
In addition to their professional endeavors, the Zeta Iota Chapter also places great importance on community service. Each month, the chapter participates in various volunteer activities with community-led nonprofits. They have also formed a partnership with the Business Student Council for the Professional Student Closet, an initiative aimed at providing professional attire to students in need.
Receiving the Superior Chapter award is a significant achievement for the Zeta Iota Chapter. Kate Wong, the current chapter President, has set her sights on further expanding the chapter’s membership.
