Shruti Jain, co-founder of Kaze Living, recently opened up about her experience at the Oxford Saïd Business School and how it has shaped her career in responsible business and sustainability. Despite deferring her offer from Saïd twice, Jain remained engaged with MBA cohorts to learn about their experiences.

Jain’s dedication and potential did not go unnoticed, as she was awarded both the Skoll and Laidlaw scholarships, further validating her drive to make a difference. These scholarships provided Jain with the opportunity to immerse herself in programs such as Impact Lab, where she learned about creating movements and impact finance. She also had the pleasure of studying Doughnut Economics, a course taught by renowned economist Kate Raworth that redefines economics for the ever-changing 21st century.

In addition to her academic pursuits, Jain made the most of her time in Oxford by participating in various activities such as wing gliding, dancing, punting, rowing, and attending debate sessions at the Oxford Union. These experiences allowed her to not only engage in physical activities but also expand her network and learn from individuals like Rasha Saïd and Anjali Benjamin-Webb.

Jain’s career highlights include creating a platform for artisanal food makers and farmer communities to build their own brands. This accomplishment showcases her commitment to supporting sustainable and ethical practices within the food industry. However, her journey as an MBA student also brought substantial achievements, including attending COP27 Egypt as a University of Oxford delegate, where she gained valuable insight into global food systems.

Overall, Jain describes her MBA experience as the happiest and most liberating year of her life. The Oxford Saïd Business School has provided her with the education, network, and experiences necessary to make a meaningful impact in the field of responsible business and sustainability. With her newfound knowledge and drive, Jain is poised to continue making a difference in the world.
