African entrepreneur Tochi Ginigeme is dedicated to empowering African youths and women through entrepreneurship, as reported by My MBA Career. Ginigeme has an extensive background in various industries, including pensions, hospitality, investment banking, energy infrastructure, and FMCG. He has successfully founded two businesses, one of which is still operational.

Ginigeme holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Ibadan in Nigeria. Prior to pursuing an MBA, he worked at Anheuser-Busch InBev as a brand and sales manager. During the summer of 2022, he also served as a consultant for local startups through Mesh Network, an organization he founded in 2016.

Following his graduation, Ginigeme intends to establish a venture fund to assist founders in Africa and emerging markets in raising capital. Currently, Ginigeme is on the entrepreneurship track and is an Eni-Africa MBA scholar at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. Furthermore, he serves as a deputy managing director of the Oxford Seed Fund, a student-led venture capital firm that invests in Oxford-affiliated startups.

One of Ginigeme’s most notable accomplishments during his business school experience was winning the GOTO challenge. His team provided recommendations for finance industry players to champion the climate change agenda. Additionally, he played a crucial role in the Below-The-Line execution of a multi-million-dollar campaign for Budweiser, contributing to a 24% increase in the brand’s power.

Ginigeme chose Saïd Business School due to its Africa initiative and its reputation for impactful career placements. He deeply admires classmate Christen Brandt, co-founder of ‘She’s the first,’ an organization promoting gender equality and empowering women and girls.

Looking ahead, Ginigeme has two professional goals on his bucket list: writing a book for young professionals and obtaining a professional finance certification. His drive and ability to inspire others have made him an invaluable member of the Class of 2023, according to Tammy Brophy, Africa Initiative Manager at Saïd Business School.

With his passion for entrepreneurship and dedication to empowering African youths and women, Tochi Ginigeme is poised to make a significant impact in the business world.
