Principal of Beman Middle School Placed on Leave Amid Anti-Semitic Vandalism Investigation
The principal of Beman Middle School in Middletown, Raymond Byron, has been placed on leave for an indeterminate amount of time, following the discovery of swastikas in a school bathroom on Thursday. The Middletown school district superintendent notified the school community of Byron’s leave and assured that they are working with the Middletown Police Department to investigate the anti-Semitic vandalism.
There has been no official information released regarding any connection between Byron’s leave and the vandalism. The reason for Byron’s leave has been kept confidential. In the meantime, Dan Raucci has stepped in as the interim principal at Beman Middle School.
Raucci, who has been serving the district as both an employee and a parent, emphasized the importance of the district’s success in his new role. He stated that he is committed to supporting the school community through this challenging time and ensuring that all students feel safe and supported.
The Middletown community is understandably shaken by the incident and eager for answers. The school district and the police department are collaborating closely to determine who is responsible for the anti-Semitic vandalism and to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to address the situation. As the investigation continues, the district remains focused on providing a safe and inclusive environment for all students and staff.
The school community is encouraged to come forward with any information or concerns related to the incident. The district is committed to transparency and accountability as they navigate this difficult situation.
