Outrage at University of Memphis as Protesters Disrupt Turning Point USA Event Featuring Kyle Rittenhouse
Protesters disrupted a Turning Point USA event featuring Kyle Rittenhouse at the University of Memphis, where Rittenhouse had been invited to speak about the Second Amendment and self-defense. Chaos ensued during the Q&A session, with video footage showing protesters chasing attendees and booing them as state troopers escorted them off campus.
The University took unprecedented actions to undermine the event, including changing seating arrangements on the day of the event. TPUSA claims that school administrators leaked new ticketing information to protesters to fill seats and stage a walk-out. Despite the chaos, Rittenhouse stated that the event was great and he was not booed off stage during the incident.
Rittenhouse, who was found not guilty on all counts related to the shooting during civil unrest in Kenosha in 2020, has reportedly been hit with a lawsuit from one of the individuals he shot during the clash. Both deceased individuals involved in the incident had previous criminal records.
The University of Memphis did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Fox News Digital. The event has sparked controversy and debate on campus, with some defending Rittenhouse’s right to speak and others condemning the University for allowing the event to take place amidst protests and disruptions.
