Elon University Golfer Ends Fall Season with Impressive Performance

Elon University golfer, Wieler, has concluded his fall season on a high note, finishing his last round of the Bryan National Collegiate with a spectacular birdie on the final hole. This birdie not only put him under par for the round but also marked his remarkable 10th round of par or better in 15 attempts this fall. Wieler’s exceptional performance helped him secure his second career top-10 finish, tying for ninth place in the tournament.

Reflecting on his solid performance, Wieler attributed his success to hitting the ball well throughout the week and improving his game in the par fives. He believes that his birdie on the last hole will provide him with the much-needed momentum heading into the spring season.

Wieler’s dedication and determination were clearly evident as he participated in all five of Elon University’s fall tournaments. In his last four starts, he earned three top-20 finishes, showcasing his consistent abilities on the golf course.

Not only did Wieler shine individually, but the Elon University men’s golf team also made a name for themselves, finishing as the runner-up in the Bryan National Collegiate. This marked their third runner-up finish as a team this fall season. The team had an overall successful performance, finishing first or second in four out of five events, including a remarkable victory at the Phoenix Invitational.

Wieler believes that there is still room for improvement for the team in the upcoming spring season. He particularly emphasized the need to start off stronger in the first round to lay a solid foundation for future success.
