Wharton Reclaims Top Spot in Global MBA Rankings
According to the latest Financial Times ranking of the top 100 global business schools, Wharton has regained its position as the world’s leading provider of MBAs in 2024. The assessment considered various factors such as value for money, alumni study aims achieved, gender and international diversity, academic research quality, and school environmental policies, as well as salary and pay increases.
Following Wharton in the ranking are Insead in France, Columbia in New York, SDA Bocconi in Milan, and Iese in Barcelona. However, the overall graduate employment rate within three months of completing an MBA has dipped to an average of 89% across ranked schools, down from 93% the previous year.
The demand for traditional business degrees has stagnated, with a 5% drop in MBA applications. Instead, there is a trend towards more flexible, part-time, and online alternatives. Wharton excelled in the research category, followed by the University of Chicago: Booth, Harvard Business School, and Columbia Business School.
Wharton alumni reported the third-highest average salaries three years after completing their courses, with Stanford alumni ranking highest, followed by Harvard graduates, Columbia, and Insead. Stanford also ranked top for alumni assessments of aims achieved, followed by Dartmouth College: Tuck and the University of Virginia: Darden.
The upcoming online event, Spotlight on the MBA, on February 21 will provide insights from academics, admissions experts, and FT journalists. It will shed light on the current trends in MBA education and the evolving preferences of students in the ever-changing business landscape.
