From Humble Beginnings to Million-Dollar Success: The Inspiring Journey of The Nitro Bar Founders

Audrey Finocchiaro and Sam Lancaster, the brains behind The Nitro Bar, started their entrepreneurial journey in 2016 with a simple coffee cart that initially brought in less than $100 a day. The couple faced numerous challenges and setbacks, almost leading them to give up on their dream. However, everything changed one fateful day at Brown University when they sold out of their nitro coffee in just 30 minutes, making a whopping $400.

This success gave them the motivation they needed to push forward, leading to the birth of The Nitro Bar. Through hard work and determination, they built a solid reputation on the campus and eventually partnered with local restaurants to survive the harsh winter months. Fast forward to today, The Nitro Bar boasts $4.5 million in sales, has 50 employees, and is available at over 50 locations in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

The journey hasn’t been easy for Finocchiaro and Lancaster, who are now married. They received a game-changing $100,000 loan from venture capital investors in 2017, providing them with the financial stability needed to grow their business. Despite their success, the couple continues to work long hours, starting their days at 5:30 a.m. and meticulously planning tasks for the week ahead.

However, they emphasize the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance to prevent burnout. Their dedication to their craft has also seen success through social media, particularly on platforms like TikTok, which has helped attract customers and expand their brand presence.

The story of Audrey Finocchiaro and Sam Lancaster is a testament to the power of perseverance, hard work, and never giving up on your dreams. Their inspiring journey from a struggling coffee cart to a multi-million-dollar business serves as motivation for aspiring entrepreneurs in the MBA community.
