Missouri State University Introduces STEM MBA Program to Enhance Career Opportunities
Missouri State University has recently announced the approval of a new graduate program that combines STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) with an MBA (Master of Business Administration) degree. The program is aimed at providing STEM students with additional business skills to increase their marketability and help them ascend corporate ladders into management positions.
The program has received approval from the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development, as well as the Higher Learning Commission. It is focused on equipping students with knowledge in current marketing strategies, management, leadership, accounting, and finance.
One of the key advantages of the STEM MBA program is that it will offer international students a 24-month extension on their F-1 student visas for practical training after graduation. This feature has not only attracted domestic students but also international students looking to extend their visas for practical training opportunities.
Faculty involved with the program are optimistic that other universities in Missouri will follow suit in offering a STEM MBA program. The program has already generated interest from approximately 50 out of the 450 students in the MBA program at Missouri State University.
Students like Vinicius Rosario see the program as a way to open doors to more career opportunities and options. The STEM MBA program is seen as a way to make students more competitive in the job market by combining technical expertise with business skills.
Overall, the introduction of the STEM MBA program at Missouri State University is expected to provide students with the necessary tools to thrive in their careers and make a significant impact in the business world.
