Robert Kraft, owner of the NFL’s New England Patriots and prominent supporter of Columbia University, has reaffirmed his commitment to backing The Kraft Center for Jewish students on campus. Describing the center as a “haven of safety” for Jewish students, Kraft highlighted the importance of providing a supportive environment for all students, regardless of their background.

The billionaire alum of Columbia University also emphasized the need for accountability among both professors and students when it comes to making comments that may cross the line. While Kraft believes in the value of free speech, he stressed the importance of imposing consequences for those who step over boundaries.

Expressing concern for the safety of Jewish students on campus, Kraft mentioned that some students feel afraid to attend classes in the United States in 2024. He pointed out the lack of education on the situation in the Middle East and stressed the importance of maintaining a welcoming and inclusive environment for all individuals, regardless of their beliefs or backgrounds.

While praising Columbia University president Minouche Shafik as “well-intentioned,” Kraft also noted the need to examine the actions of faculty members in relation to controversial comments. As a strong advocate for education and cultural understanding, Kraft highlighted the importance of fostering an environment of mutual respect and open dialogue on campus.
