As the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department North District officers focus their efforts on securing the fairgrounds, business owners in the nearby strip mall are left vulnerable to criminals. Recent armed robberies and burglaries have targeted multiple businesses, leaving owners and employees feeling on edge.

The primary motive behind these crimes appears to be money, as thieves have specifically targeted ATMs, coin machines, and even firearms. This trend has alarmed both business owners and residents alike, as it threatens the overall safety and livelihood of the neighborhood.

In response to these growing concerns, American Legion Post 34 recently hosted a meeting aimed at developing a community-based strategy to combat crime.
