The Round of 32 in the men’s NCAA Tournament concluded on Sunday with eight thrilling second-round games that kept fans on the edge of their seats. Among the top teams, No. 1 seeds UConn, Houston, and Purdue all emerged victorious, setting up exciting matchups in the Sweet 16.
One of the most notable upsets of the day saw No. 5 Gonzaga defeating No. 4 Kansas, while No. 6 Clemson pulled off a surprise victory over No. 3 Baylor. Marquette and Duke also advanced to the Sweet 16 in nail-biting games that came down to the wire.
The Sweet 16 schedule has been announced, with second-round matchups set to take place on Thursday and Friday. San Diego State, who reached the Sweet 16 for the second straight season, is gearing up to face UConn next.
In a thrilling matchup, Houston survived a furious rally from Texas A&M in overtime to advance to their fifth straight Sweet 16. Free throws proved to be a downfall for Texas A&M in the loss to Houston, despite a miraculous comeback that forced overtime.
Elsewhere, Alabama narrowly avoided an upset scare against Grand Canyon to secure their spot in the Sweet 16. Duke also dominated James Madison to advance, while Marquette held off Colorado to punch their ticket to the next round.
