The Hope College baseball team faced a tough 11-3 loss against Adrian College at Boeve Baseball Stadium. The game was part of a doubleheader, but the second game was not completed and Game 3 was ultimately canceled.

MIAA Commissioner Dr. Chris Brown made an announcement regarding the cancellation and forfeiture of the next games due to an incident during the second game. Both teams will have to forfeit their next scheduled contest in accordance with NCAA rules.

Commissioner Brown stressed the importance of sportsmanship and respect for opponents in light of the incident. Despite the setback, Hope College’s record for the season stands at 19-16 overall and 12-6 in MIAA play. The team is looking to bounce back as they prepare for their upcoming series against Calvin University on May 2-3.

In Game 1 against Adrian, Hope College put up a strong fight, narrowing the gap to just one run after a three-run fourth inning. Cade Seabaugh and Brenden Collins contributed RBI singles for Hope, while Devin Meeuwsen added a sacrifice fly. Jakob Charles, the winning pitcher for Adrian, pitched a complete game, allowing seven hits and striking out five.

As the regular season comes to a close, Hope College is focused on finishing strong and putting their best foot forward in the upcoming games.
