Last Updated on March 28, 2024 by Robert C. Hoopes
The Women’s Student Association (WSA) at Harvard Business School, a student-led organization dedicated to supporting women professionally and personally, has had a successful 2023-2024 school year. With a mission to connect, empower, and celebrate the next generation of women leaders at HBS, the WSA has been focused on furthering gender equity both on campus and beyond.
Throughout the year, the WSA has worked tirelessly to foster meaningful connections, accelerate career paths, and increase female representation in the broader community. Some of their key initiatives have included hosting an Annual Women Business Conference featuring keynote speakers and a startup pitch competition, bringing back the WSA Fall Retreat for members, and providing academic support through Finals Review Sessions.
In addition to their core programming, the WSA also has a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) team that ensures all forms of representation, not just gender, are accounted for. This year, they introduced new focus areas such as increasing female case protagonists and involving male allies through an Allyship committee.
Overall, the WSA’s efforts are aimed at creating a supportive community for women at HBS and helping them thrive as future leaders. With the support of sponsors who back their programming for members, the WSA is making a significant impact in advancing gender equity in the business world. Through their dedication to empowering women and promoting diversity, the organization continues to make a positive difference within the HBS community and beyond.
