Democratic Representative Elissa Slotkin, who is vying for a Senate seat in Michigan, is currently under public scrutiny for a Limited Liability Company (LLC) she established in 2017 just weeks before announcing her congressional bid. The LLC, named Pinpoint Consulting, has been listed as “Not in Good Standing” by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs as of 2020, sparking questions about Slotkin’s business practices.

Despite being inactive since its establishment in 2017, the LLC, according to a financial disclosure report, has not generated any income or revenue, and Slotkin’s campaign has not disclosed whether she had any clients, revenue, or employees through the firm. These unanswered questions have led to critics questioning the purpose behind Slotkin’s decision to create the company.

Slotkin, who is currently considered the front-runner for the Democratic Senate nomination in Michigan, is facing a tough general election race against Republican former Rep. Mike Rogers, who has secured the endorsement of former President Trump. The Cook Political Report rates the upcoming race as “Lean Democratic,” indicating a tight competition between the two candidates.

Despite the mounting scrutiny, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has not provided a comment on the situation surrounding Slotkin and her LLC. As the primary race on August 6 approaches, Slotkin will need to address these concerns and provide transparency regarding her business dealings to maintain her lead in the Senate race.
