Desiree Rogers (MBA 1985), Co-Owner and CEO of Black Opal, to be 2024 Class Day Speaker at HBS

Desiree Rogers, a distinguished alumna of Harvard Business School (HBS) from the class of 1985, has been announced as the Class Day Speaker for the upcoming ceremony on May 22, 2024. The event will be held on Baker Lawn at the HBS campus in Boston.
Rogers is recognized for her transformative leadership and innovative approach to business and community initiatives. As the co-owner and CEO of Black Opal LLC, she has been instrumental in revitalizing Black Opal and Fashion Fair Cosmetics. Rogers is a firm believer in the power of business to bring about positive change and is dedicated to enhancing the lives of the consumers she serves.
With a diverse career spanning both the private and public sectors, Rogers has held notable positions such as the Social Secretary to President Obama. Following her tenure at the White House, she went on to become the CEO of Johnson Publishing and chairman of the Choose Chicago tourism board.
In addition to her MBA from HBS, Rogers holds a BA in political science from Wellesley College. She is actively involved in numerous nonprofits and serves on multiple boards, further demonstrating her commitment to making a difference in the world.
