The Florida Board of Bar Examiners recently released the results of the February bar exam, revealing that 334 out of 593 first-time test takers successfully passed the exam, marking a pass rate of approximately 56%. This pass rate is consistent with last February’s exam, where nearly 55% of 678 test takers passed.

Florida administers the bar exam twice a year, in February and July, with a larger number of test takers usually taking the exam in the summer. Among the state’s law schools, Florida International University College of Law boasted the highest pass rate at 82.6%, while Florida Coastal School of Law had the lowest pass rate at 0% due to accreditation and financial issues that led to its closure in 2021.

The Florida bar exam spans two days and consists of written essays, a multiple-choice test, and a separate legal ethics exam. In addition to recent law school graduates, the February exam also included individuals already practicing law in another state or graduates from out-of-state law schools.

The Florida Board of Bar Examiners provided a breakdown of pass rates for each of the state’s 12 accredited law schools for the February 2024 exam.
