Florida’s job market continues to offer strong earning potential, with the average annual wage for all occupations in the state standing at $55,980, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. However, certain professions in Florida command significantly higher wages than the state average.

Cardiologists in Florida take home the highest average annual wage, earning an impressive $428,810. This figure not only outstrips other occupations in the state, but it also places cardiologists at the top in terms of average annual wage nationally, with a national average of $421,330.

An analysis of the 30 highest-paying jobs in Florida reveals that average annual wages in these occupations are more than double the state average. Alongside cardiologists, other medical professionals such as emergency medicine physicians and orthopedic surgeons enjoy some of the highest average annual wages in Florida. Orthopedic surgeons earn an average of $320,430 per year.

Florida is home to a diverse range of occupations, with over 750 different detailed jobs offering available average annual wage data. Among these occupations are commercial pilots, who earn an average annual wage of $131,610. The profession boasts an estimated 6,410 employed individuals in the state.

Looking specifically at Florida, the list of best-paying jobs is dominated by medical professionals. Alongside cardiologists, emergency medicine physicians, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, and surgeons (except ophthalmologists) feature on the list. Furthermore, anesthesiologists, physicians and surgeons (all other), psychiatrists, general internal medicine physicians, and family medicine physicians are among the best-paying jobs in the state.
