The Hudson Valley Venture Hub, located in New York State, has recently been recognized as one of the top innovation hotspots in the state by Empire State Development. This designation comes with significant funding of $250,000 annually for the next five years to support startups and entrepreneurs in the region.

The organization plans to use this funding to run an accelerator program that will support 20 technology-forward companies from the Hudson Valley. The program aims to connect these entrepreneurs with funders, educational experts, and angel investors to help them grow their businesses and succeed in the competitive market.

One of the main goals of the program is to expand business resources to underserved communities in the Hudson Valley. In fact, 70 percent of the businesses served by the Hudson Valley Venture Hub are women or minority-owned, highlighting the organization’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity in the business community.

Eliza Edge, the director of the Hudson Valley Venture Hub, is passionate about providing job opportunities for individuals in the Hudson Valley, similar to what she was seeking when she left the area at the age of 18. With this significant funding and focus on diversity, the Hudson Valley Venture Hub is poised to make a positive impact on the local economy and business community.
