New York University Stern School of Business has been recognized as one of the top MBA programs in the United States, securing the 10th spot in the prestigious rankings by U.S. News & World Report. This achievement further solidifies Stern’s reputation for offering exceptional business education.

Impressively, the MBA Class of 2025 at Stern showcases outstanding academic performance. With an average undergraduate GPA of 3.61 and an average GMAT score of 732, the students at Stern surpass even the highly regarded Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago, which clinched the top position in the rankings.

Despite the evident commitment to academic excellence, Stern witnessed a decline in the number of applications. The total number of applications dropped by 13.5% compared to the previous year, with only 3,075 applications received. This decline reflects a broader trend of decreasing application numbers at leading business schools across the United States.

However, the composition of the MBA Class of 2025 at Stern remained consistent with the previous year’s class in most categories. The average GMAT and GPA averages stayed on par, ensuring a high-quality cohort of students.

Stern’s MBA program continues to attract individuals from diverse backgrounds. The largest share of students, constituting 26%, come from a financial services background. Additionally, 12% have a consulting background, and 10% have experience in the technology sector.
