UNG Police Officer Balances Service and Education, Graduates with Cottrell MBA

Adrian Kim, a police officer at the University of North Georgia (UNG), recently achieved a significant milestone by graduating with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the prestigious Cottrell MBA program. Kim’s journey to earning his MBA was unique, as he had previously earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and originally planned to pursue a career as an officer in the Marine Corps.

However, a life-changing motorcycle accident led Kim to reconsider his career path, eventually deciding to become a police officer at UNG. Taking advantage of the university’s Tuition Assistance Program for faculty and staff, Kim enrolled in the MBA program to further his education and career prospects.

Kim credits UNG for helping him discover his inner leader and teaching valuable lessons in self-discipline and ethics. He also earned a graduate certificate in entrepreneurship and innovation, highlighting the program’s focus on practical skills and experiential learning.

The Cottrell MBA program at UNG is known for its emphasis on developing leadership skills and empowering students to create value for their companies. With a low student-to-teacher ratio, the program provides personalized attention and support to help students succeed.

Recognized as one of the top 50 MBA programs in the country by Fortune magazine, the Cottrell MBA program stands out for its faculty members who bring a blend of industry experience and theoretical knowledge to the classroom. Other Georgia schools, such as the University of Georgia and Georgia State University, also made the prestigious list, highlighting the state’s strong presence in the realm of business education.
